Notes - According to family, Grandma Jane (Smilie) Crawford's mother was a Stewart, after whom Norman was named. His occupation was farmer and he lived in Bruce Mines.
- Norman joined his Uncle James and family at Cloudslee for a time when he was young, working at West Superior, and later helping to build the Sault Canal. While in Michigan on that job, he met Lou, who later became his wife. Norman was an active churchman, serving on the Board and teaching Sunday School. He also took an interest in politics. He died of cancer. All of his daughters were teachers.
