Otto Carl Emil Methling was born on July 17th 1868 and baptised on July 29th 1868 at Stadkirche - Ribnitz, Mecklenburg, Germany. Otto was the son of Heinrich Johann Joaquin Methling and Auguste Fredericka Lisette Ekkers (on some records it is Eggers). His mother seemed to be known as Annie.
He arrived in New York USA on November 1st 1893 and his naturalization record shows he became an American on February 20th 1899. His given address was 47 Laight Street, New York and he worked as a porter.
He married Mary Allen on January 26th 1896 in Manhattan New York.
Otto then married Maggie Bell on September 2nd 1899. Maggie was born about 1870 in New Jersey and the daughter of William Henry Bell and Elizabeth A Tucker. Mentioned in the record of Otto Methling and Maggie Bell

Otto's third wife Anna Neuhaus (Newhouse in later census) was the daughter of John Neuhaus and Anna Reineu. She was born in New York on October 17th 1879 and died in Cincinnati Ohio on May 2nd 1945. On the 1905 census Otto and Anna lived in Brooklyn New York. Otto worked in real estate and Anna was a housewife. With them were May Methling (mother Mary Allen) and Otto and Anna's children Grace Kathryn and Otto jr. Also with them was Anna's father John who was a 50 year old watchman, born in Germany and had lived in the US for 35 years.
On the 1910 census the family had moved to Spruce Run, Ross, Allegheny, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Otto still worked in real estate and was 41 years old. Anna was 29 and a housewife. With them were May, Grace and Otto jr.
By 1920 the family were living at Elm Street, Cincinnati ward 7, Hamilton Ohio. Otto was a 51 year old commercial traveller in a chemical company. Anna was a 39 year old housewife. Their daughter Grace was a saleslady in a department store, Otto jr was 14 years old and they also had another daughter Anna who was 10 years old born 1911 in Pennsylvania.
In the 1935 Us directory Anna widow of Otto was living at 1746 Westwood Avenue Cincinnati Ohio and was a saleslady.
In the 1936 US directory Anna widow of Otto was living at 1542 Queen City Avenue, Cincinnati Ohio.
Anna died on May 2nd 1945 in Cincinnati Ohio.
Children of Otto Methling and Anna Neuhaus were;
Grace Kathryn Methling who was born May 29th 1902 New York. She married on May 29th 1923 at Butler Ohio with Emmett Morris Bias who was born in West Virginia about 1893. Grace died November 11th 1956 and was buried at Glendale cemetery Hamilton Ohio. Emmett died in 1961. They had two children (possibly more who I have yet to find) William W Bias born and died 1925 and Rose J Bias born 1924 Ohio.
Otto C Methling jr was born about 1905 in New York. He died on January 17th 1933 in Cincinnati and was buried on January 20th 1933 at Glendale cemetery Hamilton Ohio.
Anna Methling was born July 22nd 1911 Pennsylvania. She married in Monroe, Michigan, USA on January 23rd 1938. Her husband was Bernard Leo Donnelly born about 1905 in Wisconsin USA. Bernard died on May 3rd 1981 in Chatsworth, LA County, California.
Anna died and on August 10th 2005 in a nursing home in Hamilton Ohio aged 95 years old. She was cremated and both she and Bernard's ashes are buried at Glen Haven memorial park at Sylmar, LA County, California.
