She says - "Both Uncle Jack Allen & Grandpa William Allen are written on the back of the picture. They do not identify the other man in the backseat whom I believe to be Joe."

Notes - Never married. Per Lauree (Allen) Boulton - "they were all strapping big men and handsome. They were all redheads except Martin & Joe."
- From Lois: Based on medical records - at the age of 22, while helping his father put a roof on a hotel in Winnipegosis, he fell, straddled a scaffold and suffered irreparable scrotal injuries. He was engaged to be married at the time. Two years later, after surgery, he grew depressed and he tried to take his own life. Eventually he acquired a university level education. "He had become the engineer in charge of the heating system of the hospital and was free to leave but was too timid to do so. He did leave for awhile when Grandmother was alive, but went back. He lived to be 92. He left all his nieces and nephews the only estate I ever inherited. His problem was depression."
