Notes - Confirmation that the names of Richard's parents are Hugh & Jane in record for Marriage #2
- I believe that Richard is the nephew of my 2xgreat grandmother, Margery (Morrison) Allen. He immigrated to Canada in 1847 - the same year as Margery and her husband (William Allen) and family - I believe they may have travelled together.
- In 1847, when Richard immigrated to Canada, he left his wife, Rachel, in Sligo with the children. As he made money, he sent it back home so others could immigrate. I found information in Riverstown, Sligo to confirm that Rachel was receiving some financial support from the local church from Christmas 1848 to March 1851.
