  • Notes
    • From mbrandon2175 regarding John & Mary: "They were married the day they left Ireland 24 May 1828 along with Mary's father Thomas and part of his family. I don't have any background for John Peacock (would like to have). His wife, Mary Brandon's parents were Thomas Brandon (1774-1858) and Margaret (Peggy) Jamieson (1780-1859). Thomas' father was Matthew Brandon (born 1748). That's as far back as I can go - hit a brick wall in Ireland. John Peacock and Mary Brandon were my great-great grandparents."

Thomas Brandon came to Canada and settled in Dunkerron, Ont. in 1828,along with his daughter, Mary and her husband (a distant cousin) John Peacock Brandon. Thomas`wife and younger children followed in 1830. I am trying to find Thomas`ancestry. His father Matthew, Vicar in Pettigoe around 1828. I have info on this family from 1828. I have found some reference to Drumkeeran when looking for Brandons, perhaps this is where the Ontario Dunkerron came from.

Response from Sean May 10, 1999
Myrna, There are no Brandon's in Drumkeerin today nor in Pettigo which is in Donegal. However, there's one near the latter: Clive and Frances in Manorcunningham, Letterkenny Tel. 353/74-57280 I have a feeling you'll find he's a relative.
