  1993-From Notes by Harvey & Mary (McLean) Allen - Ada Pearl Allen, daughter of Sam & Annie (Nicholson) Allen attended Patton or Iron Bridge School, went to Model School later, then taught her first year at Dean Lake, then Maple Ridge schools. Ada married Carl Crockford, son of John and Sarah (Gavin) Crockford and they farmed on farm where their son Ross and wife Glenna now live (1993), and for a time, on a farm on Pine Ridge Road, south of present golf course. They had four boys. Ada returned to teaching when the boys were older. Carl died in 1960 and when Ada retired she lived in an apartment in Thessalon, then to retirement home in Bruce Mines.
