Obituary for Mary Ida (Cummings) Preston

On September 23rd Mary Ida Cummings, wife of Frank Preston, departed this life at Torontio [sic], Ontario. She had been ailing for several years and the end came quietly, while she slept. Mrs. Preston was born in Gananogue, Ontario, January 23rd, 1867, but had lived for over 30 years where she was loved by all who knew her. Her body was brought back to Thessalon, and Sunday the 29th of September, the burial service was read by Reverand John Tate, and she was laid to rest in Forest Lawn Cemetary; Mr Thos Buchanan, Mr Robert Abbott, Mr Robert Nellis, Mr William Bridge, Mr Matt Brandon and Mr John Jackson acting as pallbearers.

Besides her husband, Mrs Preston is survived by 2 sons, Frank of Thessalon and Herbert of Buffalo; and 2 daughters, Calista of Benton Harbour and Mrs Herbert Spencer [Pearl], of Duluth; and by 4 grandchildren: Mabel and Frances Preston, of Thessalon, and Herbert and Marjorie Preston of Buffalo. A sister, Mrs A. E. Pfremmer lives in Morgan Hill, California, and her only brother, in Buffalo
